AIA2023: Airshow

Defence Community Dogs attended the 2023 Australian International Airshow at Avalon in Feb; positioned within the Defence Personnel Tent.

A special thank you to AMDA Foundation and the Royal Australian Air Force for making this possible. Helping to raise the profile of the program amongst attendees and AMDA contacts, to seek Veteran applicants, source donations, and liaise with potential dog sponsors; to enable the training and gifting of the dogs, at no cost, via donors and sponsors to the Defence Bank Foundation.

Defence Bank CEO, David Marshall, and Managing Director of Defence Community Dogs, Leanne Kyle, were photographed alongside DCD VIP ADF Veteran Assistance Dogs, Bruce and Nala.

Thank you to Bruce and Nala’s Veteran recipients for attending on the day to showcase the dog’s training and role in supporting their wellbeing.
Sharing their time to engage with many of the Air Force personnel that had been on the ground for more than five weeks, preparing the show.

An incredible show of the Air Force’s capability and commitment to one defence, air and space power today, inspiring the future, honouring the past, their place in the community and international partnerships.

The dogs were also photographed with current DCD dog sponsors, Glen of Chief Fluid Systems, and Mon of Air Force Association - New South Wales. Actively supporting our Defence Community.
