‘Homecoming’ - Getting started at home

You know that feeling when you move into a new home. It is so exciting. You want to share it with everyone else, but you have a few items that help make you feel like it is your very own home.

Help set me up with some essential items, ready to train, bathe and support my Veteran with.

The pack includes my working lead, touch light, long lead, shampoo, water and food bowls, stay mat and carry bags.

There is nothing better than a warm hug, and I plan to give them to my Veteran all the time. We will play, train and have a lot of fun. I’ll support them in everything they do, everywhere they go, and then I will be ready to curl up and get some well earned rest.

Could you help me get comfortable with a care pack of essential items: including my lead, cozy bed, stay mat, warm blanket and … some toys as a special treat after training!

I never thought it would be possible to get a second chance.
As a dog rescued or rehomed with Defence Community Dogs program, my life has been saved and I have the opportunity to make a difference in the life of a Veteran and repay that .

I haven’t been training lately, so I might be carrying a little extra weight, need to get my teeth done, bit of nail trimming and a vet examination.

I might need some pre-program basic obedience training to get me ready for my exciting new role as a ‘learner’ Assistance Dog. dog like me get started in the DCD program.

This package covers the initial necessary costs of our rehoming, vet examinations, equipment and initial basic obedience training so we can get started in the program.

Veteran and Dog support pack

I’ve worked really hard to graduate from training. I’ve graduated, and I’m heading home. Can you help me make an easier transition, supporting me so I can support my Veteran.

When we first get home we have to spend a dedicated amount of time in the house, to help us bond, get used to each other, and enjoy some quality time.

You can help me to make my Veteran’s experience easier by setting up our house. I’ll get a dog set-up kit for my new home - including a working lead, bowl, touch light, long lead, shampoo, water and food bowls, stay mat and carry bags.

My Veteran will also receive some financial help, so he can keep his focus on me. This pack will help to cover some of the costs of bringing me home after graduation, including my food, council registration, some vet bills and equipment.

I’d be ever so grateful if you could throw us a ‘housewarming’.
It’s the start of our new beginning together and we are really ready to celebrate the new experiences ahead of us.

'Training' Package - Help me graduate
Veteran and Dog support pack

This pack saves my life, helps inmates rehabilitate, and improves the life of my Veteran.

By choosing a training pack, you’ll support my training journey: from being rescued or rehomed, receiving over 250+ hours of training, being supported through my handover workshop and helping me celebrate my graduation and meeting my Veteran.

As a Defence Community Dog, I train to support my Veteran with PTSD, to perform identifiable tasks to support them when they are suffering depression, anxiety and stress symptoms.

- providing stress interruptors, of rubbing hands/tapping feet
- turning on a portable light following a night terror
- providing a ‘Block’ command to provide for personal space
- scanning rooms before entry

I give my Veteran support and purpose. I’m a reason to get up in the morning. I’m adorable of course, but I’m also a reminder that they are not alone, that I have their back, and life can improve.

Can you help prepare me to become an Assistance Dog to a Veteran in need. You’ll also cover the costs of my care, including my rescue fees, boarding, feeding, vet bills, flea and worming treatments. Help support me, so I can support my Veteran.
